For the past three months, we've had an outstanding turnout, and due to time constraints, have been unable to get to everyone on the list. This has been frustrating for us and for y'all because we ALWAYS want to honor the time y'all spend to come out and share your art.
So, this month at Crowd Control we're going to be trying something a little different. We will be running the open mic straight through from 7-10pm, and we will be running a little contest. There will be a ballot box set up for all attendees to vote on their favorite performer of the night. The winner will be featured as our spotlight artist for Crowd Control in January!
Two caveats:
- You must perform original content (this is going to be a new requirement moving forward at CC)
- You cannot vote for yourself
Other than that, it's free game! Everyone performing that night will be on the ballot! We will tally up the votes and announce the winner the following Monday! The cool thing about CC is that it has been one giant experiment from day one and because we are lucky enough to get such wonderful, constructive feedback from you folks we've been able to tweak, improvise, and play around with the format to better suit y'alls needs. Crowd Control isn't ours, it's yours. Forever and always.
